THANK YOU! I have maybe 1/3 of these and intend on collecting at least one style of each T.B. knives produced although I have no intentions of paying MSRP (if I am lucky). I feel certain that these knives have the potential of increasing dramatically in value over the coming years. I have been looking for a list like this and this is the first one I have come across. Thanks again!

Hi Clay,

I got the list from Case a while back. Then I added this years knives. You may need to pay close to the MSRP for the exotic handle material issued in editions of only 100. Otherwise you will be able to find them cheaper. There is a Hardware Store in Georgia where I've bought the last two years editions. Scott Lawson gives me a pretty good price when I buy all for that year. lhc@tds.net

Good luck and happy collecting.

I have to agree with Don, I recently sold 16 of my Tony Bose knives on ebay and to a private collector and the exotic handle material knives are going for the MSRP and will only go higher. The stag, wood and bone varieties can be found below the MSRP pricing if you shop around. I have 11 knives remaining in the collection if you get the urge to expand your set let me know at sunburst_fruit@yahoo.com

They truly are the "very best" production knife being made and are as close to a custom knife as your gonna get without buying a custom knife.

Don,

It looks like you its up to you to carry the torch now that I have broke my collection... ::tu::

OK guys, I have a question.........maybe two, ok three.

I don't see the Swayback Jacks on this list.
Is that a different series?
How does the quality of the Swayback compare to the knives in this list?
How many series of these Bose/Case collaborations are there?

Thanks,
Dale

Dale,

The Sway Back Jacks are not part of the Case/Tony Bose Collaboration series. They are 3 1/5" closed, 2.2 oz, have Wharmcliffe & Pen blades and were issued on 07/01/2009 as Item #07007, TB117, TB62117 CV. The blades are Chrome Vandium which I prefer to SS. I bought 5 of them from a distributor for less that $45. each. They are nice knives but really don't compare with the Collaboration knives in fit, finish or appearance and are smaller. Mine have Chestnut Bone handles. I did buy one with Genuine Stag Handles which came in a Tin #5526 TB62117SS. I think I paid about $75 for it. I just checked the new Case Catalog and it also comes in Bermuda Geen Bone #9730 TB62117 SS. All but Chestnut Bone CV have Stainless Steel Blades. As far as I know the only true Case/Tony Bose Collaboration series is the one I listed on this thread. I'm not sure what you would call these other knives. It looks like Case will use the Tony Bose name to sell knives whenever and wherever it can.

Ralph,

Don't worry, I'm not going to sell my collection. Looks like I'll have a one man club till I can find another collector with a complete set. I believe you are right about potential increase in value.

Don,
I am not a Case collector per se, but have a few older ones in carbon steel that I like.
I really prefer a working knife with a decent size Wharncliffe blade as one of my EDCs.
I bought a seahorse Whittler in SS and was surprised at how well it held an edge.
Then I bought a Swayback Jack with CV steel and it has been in my pocket since I got it. I really like it, even depend on it in day-to-day use. It is a bit shorter than I prefer, but the swayback shape gives me a good grip despite the size.

I know Case makes another larger pattern with a Wharncliffe and I intend to pick one of them as well.

Thanks for the info,
Dale

Gary, the 2023 Volume II (most recent) issue of The Case Collector magazine has an up to date list of them, including quantity produced, from 1999-2022. Unfortunately I can’t find mine at the moment. (Grandkids just left Tuesday after being here two weeks). It’s here somewhere so when I find it I’ll scan the list and post it.

There is a notation at the bottom of the list which I didn’t include - it was hard to get it all in the scan as it was. The notation says
Other knives made during this collaboration period include versions of these patterns with Damascus blades and Tony Bose originals that were retooled to become everyday offerings in the Case catalog.
You might contact Case directly to request the other items.
