Taweesak knves anyone?

Post by StormLakeArms »

So I bought a private collection of knives last week and I'm trying to do some research on some of the knives that I am not familiar with. In the batch there were 3 knives that were listed as "Taweesak knives", but I'm having a hard time finding any reference info on these online other than several similar looking knives with the same naming for sale individually on ebay and are being sold by the same person (Ebay link: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R ... k&_sacat=0. I tried contacting them for more info, but I haven't heard anything back yet. Has anyone here ever heard of this manufacturer? These are gorgeous looking, highly polished, mother of pearl inlay, gold (plated?) hardware, (supposedly) handmade knives.

Any links to a manufacturer or specs are greatly appreciated.

Here are some photos for reference:

From what I can find he is a custom knife maker from Thailand. His knives look somewhat similar to Master Koji Hara’s.
If these are like some other knives from Thailand that I have had, they are probably nice quality, not in the same camp as Hara knives, but few are.

So the general thought on these are that they are pretty & from Thailand, but nobody has any actual info on who made them? I'm not complaining, I couldn't find anything much either using Google and DuckDuckGo. I was just hoping that *someone* would know something more about them.

It's fairly rare on AAPK when no one knows. Sometimes that happens - there are thousands of knifemakers around the world so chances are some of them are not recognized by any given group of people. Mark gave you some good insight so you have not struck out totally. In this case perhaps one day is not enough time for the person who does know eventually sees this.

For me, what's hard is looking at all the screws and thumbstuds.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Yes, it turns out these are from a small manufacturer in Thailand. Very little information is out there, but I think I found a lead on getting more information from someone who said he has been buying his knives for over 20 years.
