Let’s see those Stockman configurations
I know there aren’t all called stockman, but they fit the blade configuration
Re: Let’s see those Stockman configurations
All pretty nice.
I am a sucker for the 5 blade sowbelly type stockman.

Re: Let’s see those Stockman configurations
Here's an odd configuration.
A equal end with a O.V.B. main blade stamp and New York Knife Co., Walden stamped on the spey and the sheepfoot.
The knife is very solid.

Let me stir the pot just a bit.
Isn’t there a difference in a stockman and cattle knife? I think I see both in the opening post.
Both will do the same job, just different shaped frames.
Maybe I’m not seeing this from the proper angle.

I think you're seeing it from the proper angle and without thinking it through, I added a cattle knife in my post.treefarmer wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 10:31 pm Let me stir the pot just a bit.

I do believe you are correct, Treefarmer. Good call.

Re: Let’s see those Stockman configurations
I'm pretty sure i read somewhere from a well knife historian that the " Cattle Knife " was the pre cursor to the " Stockman ". What happened was that the leather punch which was on a lot of cattle knives was no longer needed as much as it was in older times, so was replaced by the sheepsfoot blade there being the start of the 3 blade stockman knife.treefarmer wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 10:31 pm Let me stir the pot just a bit.
