All About Pocket Knives

I just got this one in, and it is a good quality, perfect walk and talk, not too hard, not too soft. I bought it as a Boker, and that is what the seller bought it as, but I'm not sure. It almost has the shape of the Keen Kutter outline, but I just cant tell for sure. Anybody have any ideas?

I really like that one, great bone. Does look a bit like the ends of the bar on the Keen Kutter stamp. The bone does look quite a bit like the bone on a couple of older Keen Kutters I have.

Check out this pic, maybe it is a keen kutter. I have a few well made knives that I have no ideal who made them.

It bears a strong resemblance to this 3-3/8" Primble I have in my collection (made by Boker USA). OH

Boker would be my best guess. Nice looking knife. That Primble is just about a dead ringer for it. Pin placement shield and all.

Ok , after a bit of searching 9695 Boker (good lead 0078, thx), I'm really thinking it is a true Boker with the simple "BOKER" stamp and the federal shield making it 1930-1950 USA production, which feels about right for the knife. Thanks to vikingdog and rangerbluedog for that info.

So until proved different - that is my story, and I'm stickin to it....maybe....

".......The 1463 pattern is a new one to me. I've never seen one, and none of the catalogs I have show that pattern. The closest I have is a stock pattern shown in a 1941 ad. The top one looks kind of like a 9695 pattern but I'm not sure. Boker made so many swell end jacks.

I'll venture a guess. The BOKER tang stamp was used from circa 1930 to 1970. The federal shield was used by Boker from the early 1900s through the 1950s. So the top knife would have been made circa 1930-1950s.
The bottom would have been made circa 1940s to 1950s......"

The tang stamp reminds me of the hardware brand Enderes.

Their tang stamp consisted of a rectangle inside of which was the word "ENDERES". The "E" in "ENDERES" was formed by a small middle line extending from the left side of the rectangle and is often missed by sellers and therefore the knives are often listed as "NDERES" knives.

Don't know who might have manufactured their knives for them, quite possibly Boker.

Well, the more I look at vikingdog's pic, I see some minor differences. It is real close, but the shield is more a fish than a federal shield, and the swedge is different.

I haven't had much luck nailing it down as an Enderes or Square Deal, but will continue to look. I'm still leaning toward Boker though and will take the seller at his word till I can tell different.

You might also check out Lawton Cutlery Co. Chicago.
They had a logo similar to the Square Deal.

I'm pretty sure that's a USA made Boker. Size, bolsters, pulls, tangs, swedges, pin locations all look the same to me. Imagine a big block letter stamp just like the eBay pic I posted. Pretty sure I can make out the B in your pic. If I had to bet that's where I'd put my money.

Enderes eh?...wonder who the maker really was then?..I'll leave that to the experts
