Finally think I got some pictures of one of my Jack Knife Ben knives. Notice the double fluted punch blade that was a patent of NAPANOCH back in the 1910 era.

Superb knife.

Sweet knife. I was going to ask who made it. But I guess that punch blade tells that. I like the handles and the badge. I also like the way the tang is marked. The h and g in Chicago on the secondary blade are interesting. Thanks for the pic!

How many different companys made knives for JKB?

Not real sure but NAPANOCH, Winchester, Robeson, and SCHRADE were in there. This one with the punch I think was a Robeson and the other one was another NAPANOCH variation with a sheep foot blade.

Thanks JKB, I live on the NC/SC state line I have never seen one down here. I guess, didnt too many make it down here. I like them, maybe I will get lucky and find one. If I do are there any definite characteristics that I could look for?

There are some stories about Jack Knife Ben on the web site. Watch out for fakes, usually a trapper pattern that Parker made. All of the cattle pattern or stockmen before 1930's had match striker long pulls. There are smaller 2 and 3 blade knives also. I will try to send some pictures of my collection.

You have a great collection, I am impressed. I will use this information and pics for future reference. This will be very helpful. Some of the knives made by schrade I can recognize by the jigging of the handle. The others are not as distinctive to my untrained eye. I have seen knives on the web that I thought could have been fakes. After seeing yours I believe they were. If I run across any I will post them. And again thanks!

I (think) I finally found one. Not in the best of shape but it fits the old pick bone and propeller shield with punch blade style that Jack Knife Ben seemed to be fond of. Maybe started life as a Robeson? Picked it up on the cheap so even if it's fake I'm not out much. Great blade snap and well built regardless . . . and it cuts.

Looks like you won the prize today! I'm still looking for my first JKB. Just something about an old well worn pocket knife.
