my newest ebay purchase, is this knife real, or did I get ripped off. I own a cattaraugus 4 blade compass scout, but I cannot find this one.

Sorry Mooseman, but I don't know much about Catts. Maybe someone will be in here who knows. Hang in there. ::tu::

I think the knife is a good one. Pattern is number 22899-JR Scout. Can't find one in the catalog with the compass but I know they made them that way. Rare knife. Is it 3" closed???

Old Catt Tang Stamp

That is an old stamp.
The arched one's I have or have seen 'Do Not' have pattern numbers stamped on them. Some Folks will shy away from them for that reason.

One thing about this one; I have only seen that style bottle & can opener on pre '31 New York Knife company products. I know NYK farmed stuff out, but never with Cattaraugus.
At first I thought it may have been a "Lunch Box knife". I have seen several Catt utility patterns of this type, but I found the pattern in one of my books, shown without compass also.

Nice knife, a keeper for sure in my book. ::tu::
