Hello! I've been collecting various knives for awhile now and have lurked a bit in the forums, but I've never posted. Thank you for any help you can give.
I bought this little Gerber lockback on eBay earlier this year and have been trying to find information about it. I haven't been able to find anything. It's like it doesn't exist. Anyone know what it is? Could it be a custom job?

Welcome to AAPK. Glad to have you aboard.
Yeah, it looks to me like it's been rehandled. We'll wait for Dale (orvet) to come along and give us his studied opinion. He's had quite a bit of experience with the Gerbers, plus he's a knife mechanic and lives in the area where Gerbers originated.

Thanks, Jerry!

To me, it looks like an LST that someone glued wood scales over the plastic.

I agree. Perhaps a special build for someone with arthritic hands.Case V42 wrote:To me, it looks like an LST that someone glued wood scales over the plastic.

Precisely my hypotenuse.
Whoever did it, they did a nice job. It'd look good in my collection.

I agree; homemade, but nicely done!

Gerber did make a factory wood scale LST.
Had these pictures tucked away in a corner of my computer, found them yesterday and remembered... I saw one sorta like that. From what I've recall, they are pretty rare. Don't know where I originally ran across them, guess it doesn't matter.
