Inserting Special Characters Into Your Posts.

Post by jerryd6818 »

To insert "Special Characters" (those not on your keyboard) into your posts, follow the directions at the bottom of the attached chart. They don't all work but almost all do. Left click twice on chart to enlarge to maximum size.

Important!
Make sure Num Lock is on (there is a light on your keyboard that when on means Num Lock is on)
Make sure you use the ten key pad to input the numbers for the special character code.

I'm always looking for the "cents" sign, a "c" with a line through it. But I don't see it on this list either? ::shrug::

Unfortunately I couldn't get the chart to display any larger. It seems like AAPK keeps limiting the size. ::shrug::

I guess you'll have to open the chart in another tab (Right click on the chart and from the drop down menu choose "Open link in new tab"). Use 'Control' key roller wheel forward or 'Control' key + to enlarge the chart (Just close the tab when finished). You'll find your ¢ character at Alt 155.

The cent sign should be ALT 155.

Unfortunately, the ALT(character number) method doesn't work on all forums so I created a "cheat file".

I put all the oddball characters I use in a text file called characters.txt on my desktop and the I just copy and paste the character I want from the file and paste it into the post on which ever forum I'm on.

Example - I want to state "my 2 cents worth" with a cent symbol

my 2¢ worth

or degrees Farenheit
