Re: How to Search eBay Completed and Sold Listings
You're welcome Richard. I've noticed that the path to the sold listings on eBay is not intuitive. There seems to be a general ignorance (that word means lack of knowledge folks) of the method for getting to sold listings so I decided this thread's time has come. Of course people don't search, people don't explore and people don't read but maybe a blind chicken will stumble across this thread now and then.

Re: How to Search eBay Completed and Sold Listings
The "completed" list is of auctions that have run their course and includes all auctions whether the item(s) sold or not.Lansky1 wrote:I often search "completed" ... whats the difference between completed and sold listings ? Thanks
The "sold" list is only those auctions that ended with a sale.

Re: How to Search eBay Completed and Sold Listings
I use one less step.....maybe it doesn't show, depending on how you have your left side tabs set up I guess.
I search ebay, results appear, then I click (on left side) completed or sold .....

Re: How to Search eBay Completed and Sold Listings
There was a time that I could even get the actual sale price when an offer was accepted at less that the "But It Now "(BIN) price. However I no longer seem to be able to do that. When an item sells in a "Buy It Now or Best Offer" transactiion the original BIN price still shows up. Anyone know how to access the actual sale price?

Re: How to Search eBay Completed and Sold Listings
You can still figure out the approximate selling price a few ways.
1. Go to "sellers other items" then click on "filter", then click on "sold" and then "sort by" and either highest or lowest price. The results will show auction and buy it now pricing in ascending or descending selling price. The "best offer" prices will be slotted in where they sold according to selling price although the "binobo" price will be shown. For example. 100, 110, 150obo, 120. The 150 actually sold between 110 and 120. This can also be a useful tool in figuring out best offers to make based on the sellers previous accepted offers.
2. The above only works with fairly active sellers. Instead of searching the sellers previously sold items, use some of the item desciption and search using the same steps. The item you want will show up in the search, just a matter of locating it and getting its sold price range.
The above paragraphs may indicate too much time on eBay.

This works. I forget the steps in between uses and have to play with it to get my results but it uses the item number.

Well, not exactly, BUT when I do a search I then click on completed listings (gives me sold and UNSOLD) and click the box with a little arrow on right, and it'll provide options, of which one is HIGHEST. Click highest and you'll see where the "best offer" accepted price fits between.
You can also change it to lowest.
