Managing Your Private Message (PM) Folder
There are a couple of ways to get rid of unwanted PM's.
To selectively delete individual PM's or an entire page of PM's at one time --->
To have the forum delete the oldest PM's as new PM's come in --->

Yes.
And then when you go to your Private Messages, you will see this:
To release that PM (or PM's) that's on hold, you will have to delete enough old PM's to make room for the new ones.
Then you will have to click on "Release all on hold messages"

Re: Managing Your Private Message (PM) Folder
I have often wondered why the pm box is limited to 100 messages when your post history and everything else seems to be unlimited. Anybody know?

It's just the way this software is set up. You would have to ask Bryan if that field can be modified or if it's a static setting.gsmith7158 wrote:I have often wondered why the pm box is limited to 100 messages when your post history and everything else seems to be unlimited. Anybody know?
Edit: I don't know about you but once I get 100 PM's in the inbox, I've forgotten what 98% of them were about.

Re: Managing Your Private Message (PM) Folder
I agree Jerryd but from time to time I get a pm with some pictures in it that I would like to save in connection with the sender. I suppose I could save them to my computer. I'll have to try that.jerryd6818 wrote:It's just the way this software is set up. Or you could create a new folder in your message section and save them to that.gsmith7158 wrote:I agree Jerryd but from time to time I get a pm with some pictures in it that I would like to save in connection with the sender. You can have up to four additional folders & store up to 100 messages in each folder.

Re: Managing Your Private Message (PM) Folder
Joe, you crack me up.
There was a change to a new version of the forum software and it doesn't work exactly like the old version. So no, you no longer get an email announcing a PM. You now have to come to AAPK to find out you have PM (gray background, right hand side, just below the crawl - "Private messages"). JJ, look at it as an incentive to visit the forum.wiseguy wrote:I use to get an email notification that I had a PM here but not anymore......what happened?

When you log in, just check the "Remember me" box and you won't have to log in again until something happens that logs you out. It's not like we're doing high finances here.

Don't know dogg. Are these settings correct? Those are my settings. Yours would more likely be UTC:5 and New York or Toronto.
