Re: Notifications
Go to the thread or PM it's notifying you about (or turn off notifications in the "User Control Panel")
Unread posts and PMs will show a check mark when you pass your cursor over it.
You can go to the post or PM the regular way
OR
You can click on the notification(s) that have a check mark and that will take you there

I don't understand this stuff very well. I restrain myself from shooting my computer only because of the noise it would make in the house and other unintended consequences.(make that intended)
I'd take it outside but I live next door to a school.
I still can't get rid of my notififlippincations!

Re: Notifications
When i have a "notification" and put the cursor over it, sometimes it shows the thread in which i am being quoted, but more often i simply get the word "notification" repeated and i need to go through all my posts to find out what the notification is.

Re: Notifications
Joe click on your user name then choose user control panel, click on the tab that says overview. There will be severai tabs on the left that say manage Notifications , manage bookmarks ,etc... Somehow I had bookmarked the thread about what's in the mailbox and got a notification every time someone posted there so you can delete notifications from those tabs that begin with Manage. Check them all.FRJ wrote:I don't understand this stuff very well. Re: Notifications
Thank you, Greg. I do as you suggest and mark all of the notifications because I want to delete them but I see no delete button.
I don't mind notifications, but I wish I could delete them.

Re: Notifications
Okay. Click on your user name then click on user control panel when the screen appears click the tab that is marked Board Preferences. You will see a list for notifications for different reasons that are all checked. simply uncheck what you don't want to be notified about.
Edit I left out Two steps after you click on Board preferences there there is a screen where you must click on edit notifications that will take you to the list of notifications. After you uncheck the ones you don't want you must click Submit at the bottom of the page.

Thanks, Greg. I went there and elected to receive notifications if quoted in a post.

Re: Notifications
Joe, I'm really confused as to what you're trying to accomplish. If you're talking about the Notifications drop down menu as shown in the attached menu, The Notifications don't disappear once you link to them, the check mark just goes away. If you want all the check marks to go away, click on "Mark all as read". This will not delete the Notifications.
BTW, you can go directly to the Notifications controls by clicking on "Settings".
I hope this is of some help. Unfortunately I have a feeling it's not.

Re: Notifications
Thanks, Jerry.
I'm just wanting to delete the notifications that have accumulated.
It seems like it would be easy as in PMs and such.
No "delete" to click on.

Re: Notifications
Joe, if you mean delete the notifications in the drop down menu (as shown in my previous post) ya can't. It's just a first in, first out setup. The drop down just shows the five latest notifications and if you go to the bottom of the dropdown menu and click on "Show All", it shows ALL your notifications from the beginning of time on a separate screen. Unless there's something I'm not aware of, ya can't delete Notifications.

Thanks, Jerry. Now I'll quit trying.
It was getting frustrating and the firearm stunt was looking pretty likely.
