I fully realize MSRP is no indication of street price but come on, $300 for this?? Are they out of their ever-lovin' minds?

I hear ya Mike but at those prices, who could afford to? Three of them at those prices would be a heck of a comedy team.

It seems the norm for their pricing is slowly creeping past the $225.00 mark.. And that knife is butt ugly to me.. ::td:: Too much going on!! ::facepalm:: John :D

I've never understood those prices. That kind of money (and less) for a chunk of steel (I don't care if it is premium steel), two slabs of FRN, some spacers and a few screws. Buck makes several models of high quality modern knives here in the USA and they sell for $25 - $60. So does Kershaw. A traditional knife has a lot more parts and hand manufacturing steps and there are a Billy blue bunch that sell for less than $100. Am I living in my own little world here? I ain't payin' for a damn hole.

I agree. I just don't see that kind of money for that knife.

That's what I'm sayin' Phil. Even though our dear friend Josh might be offended to his socks, I'll have to say it again. I ain't paying extra for a hole. ::huff::

The Schemppp Bowie is the first Spyderco I have ever purchased.

To me it is the bridge between more traditional folders and the modern "tactical" folders. It has that great classic shaped blade that reminds me of the Buck 110, and the brass bolster, and yet the coffin handle, and the thumb hole for quick slick flick opening, and the pocket clip.

Oh, and I sure did not spend no $300.00 on it. It's like the brochure price of a cruise to the Caribbean, nobody pays that much.

Anyway, everyone has different tastes. Coming from old school, the Schempp Bowie is the first Spyderco I ever thought was attractive.
