This one belongs to my wife.I bought it for her at Menard's in Indianapolis many years ago.It is her "EDPC"(every day purse carry)and I had a hard time just getting her let go of it long enough for me to photograph.

Been a few years since this thread was active; I stumbled onto it as I was sniffing around for a place to post my Delicas. Haven't heard from junebug for quite some time and jmh58 seems to be maintaining radio silence as well; I miss both of them ::tear::. Don't know if they still lurk on the site just to read, but maybe reviving this thread will tempt them out of "retirement" ::fc::.

I'll start with this one which is a current EDC:

We are all just prisoners here of our own device.
In the master's chamber they gather for the feast.
They stab it with their steely knives but they just can't kill the beast.

I got this one because it has a true Wharncliffe blade as opposed to the slightly upswept curved edge style blade that is more commonly seen on the Delica (which is often mistakenly called a Wharncliffe).

To avoid falling into the bottomless pit of endless handle colors and blade steel variations, I decided to focus exclusively on unique customized Delicas and limited sprint runs. This particular model/style is called "Nutnfancy" and features a black blade and all black hardware in a limited run of 1230.

This one is a bit different from the typical run-of-the-mill Delicas in that it has a carbon fiber handle instead of the usual fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN). As you can imagine, this gives it a totally different feel in the hand: nice and smooth like a water-worn river rock. Slips into and rides nicely in the pocket (and fun to finger), but not as grippy when using as the highly textured FRN.

Saved the best for last with this very unique Delica that has a custom-dyed handle and a customized Wharncliffe blade. The black FRN handle was partially dyed purple and the Wharncliffe blade has been customized with file work on the spine and textured and bead blasted to give it a granite-like appearance. (Light trace of the Glessner glyph is still evident on the blade near the thumb hole.)

Apparently I am the last Delica fan left standing out here shivering in the vast frozen Spyderco tundra...getting a bit lonely ::tear:: :cry:

I'll show my final Delica 4 then head on back to where all the hip slipjoint collectors congregate. Fortunately, my last Delica is a Zome Glow model so even when I turn off the lights and lock the door behind me, a small flicker of Zome will continue to send out it's feeble but hopeful glow to guide and invite other lost collectors traveling through the knife collecting wilderness to stop in and rest their weary traditionals, take a break from the same old same old, and possibly discover a new interest just waiting to be awakened inside them.

Or not. ::undecided::

I never liked the Delica, to small, but I do have 6 or 7 Endura.

I like both models. :D I find the Delica more convenient for EDC and the Endura handy around the house and more useful in the yard.
