Benchmade Mel Pardue Bali Song

Post by Milwood »

I have an old Bali Song. 'Design Patent Pending'. No other I.D. but assume it's a Model 350. Never used or sharpened. Perfect condition. No box or papers. Would like to sell. Any idea regarding worth?

The tip of that thing looks pretty scratched up for being ''never used'' ??? The blade coating is all worn off all the edges too. Man the srews even look like they have been messed with???? I hope you dont try to sell that thing here saying its in "unused condition" ?? That thing hsa been well used!! ::shrug::

Is "Bali Song" the model of the knife? It's not a balisong or butterfly knife. ::shrug::

Murph,
What was the answer? My 1st thought was that it wasn't a bali song.

Can't for the life of me figure out where my answer came from but I did a quick ebay check and came up with this. "Bali-Song" is apparently just a knife model. Maximize the pic and look inside the butterfly.

Had me guessing too. Kind of mis-leading to use the Bali-Song name on that knife.

I think that you might be right about it being a model 350 Milwood, on the reverse side does it say Bali-Song? Can you show a picture of the front? If it is the 350 I would guess you could get $70-100.

tjmurphy, Bali-Song was previously the name of Benchmade out of Oregon. They used the Bali-Song name until 1988 according to wikipedia. They then continued to the Bali-Song mark until 1999.

Here is some dating information from a member in another forum. It is transcribe below as well.

""The Benchmade Logos changed some times in the BM-history:
1. From beginning until 1999: Butterfly with antenna, marked "Bali-Song"
2. 1999 - 2002: Butterfly with antenna, marked "Benchmade" without model-number beneath the butterfly
3. 2002 - 2004: Butterfly with antenna, marked "Benchmade" with model-number beneath the butterfly
4. 2004 - until now: Butterfly without antenna, marked "Benchmade" with model-number beneath the butterfly
Exception: All Balis (until now) are wearing the old butterfly-logo with antenna, marked "Bali-Song""
