An Interesting Old Robeson Razor

The first Robeson knives were imported by Millard Robeson from England and Germany exclusively. This continued from 1979 until 1896 when Robeson began manufacturing knives in the United States. Since inception, the company has gone through several reorganizations & eventually ended up as a Queen Cutlery brand.

An Interesting Old Robeson Razor

Post by RobesonsRme.com »

I bought this old Robeson razor off EBay last week for twenty dollars.

It has a Masonic emblem empressed and inked on one handle and an atypical American Flag etched on the blade with, “OUR PRIDE” on it.

The handles are cream colored celluloid.

The blade is in good shape with some scattered pitting.

I have never seen such a razor from Robeson and suspect it was part of a special order, possibly circa WWI.

I've got an Our Pride tin tobacco tag that's identical to the etching on your razor.
The tag dates from 1900 to 1920.
It could be a premium for redeeming the tobacco tags.
People would save their tags and turn them in for a lot of different items.
Who knows?

So, there was a tobacco called, “OUR PRIDE” and they utilized that emblem?

Now, I need to figure out Masonic connection.

Thanks.

Very nice Charlie!! Interesting markings. There is an interesting and fascinating reality type show on Netflix about the Free Masons in Great Britain. Very peculiar secret organization that lets the cameras in for a view except of the new member initiation and some other secret procedures. The members are very enthusiastic and dedicated and seem to be of high caliber character!

My Dad was a Mason, but not of a very high degree. He got into it late in life.

He always admonished me to join. He said, "Masons take care of Masons", whatever that might have entailed.
