Robeson 512224

The first Robeson knives were imported by Millard Robeson from England and Germany exclusively. This continued from 1979 until 1896 when Robeson began manufacturing knives in the United States. Since inception, the company has gone through several reorganizations & eventually ended up as a Queen Cutlery brand.

Welcome to the forum.

Is the pattern number on the front or the back of the blade?

I think the U.S.A. has been ground off.

Either that or the stamp die at the factory was broken or worn out.

I don't think they ever used a stamp like that one.

The knife probably dates 1940 to 1965.

I wonder why someone would grind off the USA stamp, I also noticed the letter were not aligned as well as some of my other robesons

This is how I think the stamp should appear.

I have no explanation for the crowding of the G and E in SHUREDGE on your knife.

Notice the wear marks on the tang through the U.S.A. portion of the stamp.

My knife is near mint and the blade on yours is markedly down from full.

The U.S.A. might have just been worn down from simply opening and closing the knife.
