A Pretty Doctor

The first Robeson knives were imported by Millard Robeson from England and Germany exclusively. This continued from 1979 until 1896 when Robeson began manufacturing knives in the United States. Since inception, the company has gone through several reorganizations & eventually ended up as a Queen Cutlery brand.

Ohh, that's a nice one Joe. Those handles are just splendid.

Joe, did you buy that?

I'm pretty sure I saw that knife up for auction on Ebay.

Nice one.

Robeson made more than one pattern of doctors knives.

I assume that one is a 195. They made that with pearl handles, too.

They also made a longer knife with an elongated top bolster, almost like a Barlow, and a cap/pill crusher at the large end. The knife was a MasterCraft with the NEV-R-BIND bronze bearings and the appropriate MasterCraft shield.

I have only seen one of those.

Bruce Voyles showed a curved dog-leg jack with a flat butt cap in his books and he referred to it as a physician's knife. Whether Robeson made it for that purpose, I do not know.

Thank you, Jerry.

Yes, I did buy it, Charlie. Thank you.
I did take a picture of the pile side of the tang and put it in the post. It's a 195.
It's such a honey.
Thanks for the other information on the MasterCraft and such.
By the way, did you get the picts of the old jack?
