Kershaw Link
I came very close to posting my new Kershaw "Link" in the current Kershaw "Leek" topic, however, I caught my miss-adventure just prior to hitting the 'post' button. I allow myself one "Senior moment per day."
So....here is my new Kershaw "Link," not "leek." (Tomatos / Tomatoes)
I think Kershaw has something going on with the "L" letter:
Launch, Leek, Les George, Light Year, Luncha and Lone Rock are all Kershaw models.
I ordered the Kershaw Link Olive Aluminum a few days ago from Smoky, should have it before Christmas. Therefore, the below pictures are not mine.
I paid a bit more for the CPM-20CV blade steel and a new machined and anodized aluminum handle.
"Kershaw takes the popular Link to a higher level with CPM-20CV blade "Super Steel" and the new machined and anodized aluminum handle with 'SpeedSafe' opening. The "Link" is proudly made in the USA. This premium blade steel offers superior hardness, corrosion resistance, toughness, wear resistance—for top edge retention. The aluminum handle is anodized in olive green and the machined pattern gives it a look that’s a real departure from earlier Links, as well as providing enhanced grip."
Blade Length: 3.25" (8.4 cm)
Handle Length: 4.4" (11.2 cm)
Overall Length: 7.6" (19.3 cm)

Re: Kershaw Link
Anyone who likes the Link but wants to spend a few less Shekels might want to consider this variation of the Kershaw Link. The blade is 420HC stainless steel which is a bit less exotic and the handle is milled a little differently but the blade is the same shape and it's endowed with SpeedSafe, a super favorite of mine. As a bonus, it's also made in the USA. Closed length 4.4".
Dan, you picked a real winner there. I like your handle much better.

Re: Kershaw Link
Thanks Jerry.
The Kershaw Link 1776X with Speedsafe you posted is currently on sale at smkw for $35.00. To include Speedsafe, at this price, it's a great deal.
I like the design. I've even put in on my 'Wish List'
I believe my addiction is in a whole new direction?

Re: Kershaw Link
Thanks, Dan. Some don't like the busyness of the Tiger Stripe, but I think it works well with certain knives.

How old do ya have to be to qualify for those "Senior moments"? Is 48 old enough?

Re: Kershaw Link
I too like and own a 1776 Link, mine is like Jerry’s, but I carry it often, growing up in the 70s I remember in the year 1976 everything was Bicentennial our neighbor even had a Dodge D100 with white paint and special red and blue stripes and stars on it from the factory, (I think it rusted to the ground by 1978) but anytime a US manufacturer puts 1776 or 1976 product number on the item…it should be patriotic IMO

Re: Kershaw Link
I have a small collection of links maybe 8 if them. Later this week I'll get them all out and take a picture. Congratulations on the new knife. I love the ergonomics of them along with the heavy aluminum handle.
Re: Kershaw Link
Hi all. Nice to find other Kershaw fans. Here is my small collection.
Re: Kershaw Link
Nice collection!
I think the Link is a great knife.
It was positioned to provide a value oriented yet quality USA made competitor to the many offshore knives available.
The 1776 model number was no coincidence, nor was the subsequent 1812 Dividend.
I have been a fan of Kershaw, ZT and Shun for years.
A new one I have been impressed with is the Iridium.
