My First Kershaw Pocket Knife

Kershaw began its foray into the knife business sometime during 1974. The company was originally based in Portland Oregon, but most early knives were manufactured in Japan. The first US manufacturing plant was opened in 1997 & the company currently offers knives made in the U.S., Japan, & China. Pete Kershaw (an ex Gerber salesman) started the business.

My First Kershaw Pocket Knife

Post by New_Windsor_NY »

This is my first Kershaw knife and my first time posting in the Kershaw forum. A few days ago, my friend found this knife on the floor of her restaurant. She asked me if I wanted it. I said yes and asked her to wait a couple or a few days to see if anyone would claim it, it was never claimed. She gave the knife to me today. It's a Kershaw 1678, "SPEEDSAFE" USA, single blade folder. It measures 4 1/4 inches closed and 7 1/2 inches, blade open. Not bad for a freebie, it is in great condition and I look forward to it becoming another EDC for me.

I had already posted this in another thread. I don't know anything about steels but I see people bragging on the S30V steel.

I have several Kershaws but not this one. I found this on Amazon. It pretty much covers it and Scott provided financial information.
