Cheapo Chinese switchblades

Post by prober996 »

My father's collection has a large number of inexpensive, but cool in their own way, Chinese switchblades. Here are a few of them. I like the two, very thin and lightweight knives in the bottom photo.

I too have my fair share of inexpensive "click therapy" autos, P996. My first auto was a US$18. 9" Chinese stiletto that I still have and it still operates perfectly, so my less expensive models certainly have saved the wear and tear on the springs in my better models, all the while satisfying my need to hear and feel that "crack" when an automatic knife fires open. I've only viewed the 2 bottom models online so I'm wondering if you press in on the cover to fire the blade? ::shrug:: 8)

They open by pushing the round part at the rear of the scale. Not 100 percent sure but I think are a clone of something, seems like Smith and Wesson, over 30 years ago when I had one of the clones.

Yes, you click on the round part of the tab to open.

The bottom knife is a clone of a Bill McHenry-designed knife that Benchmade made.

Not an hour ago I saw an original at Arizona Custom Knives, $195., SKU: 1061111, and it had the McHenry and Benchmade etches and was titled the "Benchmite", not that I ever doubted you Bill. 8)
