Finally scored a Queen Steel Jet 10 year hunt is over

Post by Kramersknife »

As the title states Just found a Queen Steel Jet and it works great and I didn't have to take out a loan for it.Been looking for 10 years or more for one at an affordable price and it FINALLY happened.Only on thing if anyone knows how many years did this knife get produced?I know the story of the bulk of parts being mixed in with a cement foundation or sidewalk due to the 1958 SW law but don't know much more on the production for them.

Hello, Kramersknife, Randy here. Nice knife you have there. Queen applied for the patent in 1948 and was granted the patent in 1950. There are 2 versions of your knife. Yours with a safety and another without. I would say 1948 to 1958 were the years they were made. Mint retail around $400.00 dollars. Congratulations! Randy

Didn't even know they existed. Beautiful knife. Always fun when you find the prize egg. ::nod:: ::nod::

Thanks for the info I didn't think Queen made them that many years mainly because I never see these for sale anywhere. A few places with pretty high prices in the 600.00 range. They are rare so I can see someone wanting that price but out of my range at this point in my life.I got a bargain on this one because it stuck a little wouldn't open all they way but now its fine with oil and about 2 minutes in an ultra sonic cleaner

I wish that a high-quality knife manufacurer would buy the patent and begin producing these once again. They could ask $250.00 for a model with ATS-34. or even make one from D2 tool steel. They'd sell like hotcakes!
