Re: American Switches
Just picked up this American switch. Very well made, the spring is in the blade pivot pin. Seems to be a decent weight and size, excellent materials.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: American Switches
John! Your Piranha IS a very well built knife. Can't remember if yours is a "Bodyguard" or a "Prowler" model, but both are of equal quality and operation. The spring around the pivot is referred to as a "coil-spring" operated auto. Very nice score, enjoy it!1967redrider wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 11:46 pm Just picked up this American switch. Can you tell a difference in the quality between the three?1967redrider wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 12:29 am A trio of orange handled switches with Paracord cutters- Camillus, Logan/Smyth, and Schrade.
I've often read that the Logan Smyth was inferior.

Re: American Switches
Thanks, Mark.
Most definitely, David. The Logan/Smyth doesn't lock closed as cleanly but does spring open and lock open properly. So it gets a lesser rating in my book. Seems to be made the same, though, with the same materials.

I have an OKC like yours coming on Saturday. (Mine doesn't have the serrations. I prefer it that way). Is the knife's blade made from Bohler N690?

Re: American Switches
That little pull ball switchblade is neat. I have one similar that is a Remington.galvanic1882 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2011 1:13 am Here are 2 that I just picked up. Both work as they should and the color on the Edgemaster I have never seen before.
