Re: American Switches
Nice one Dale. LOL.
Would love to get a couple of them in Oz, but alas, that will never happen.
Tony.

Re: American Switches
Wiseguy, I don't like to use the term rare very often but calling that Presto fairly rare is a bit of an understatement.
Kieth, You are going to be hard pressed to ever upgrade that knife. Beautiful condition.

Re: American Switches
My latest pickup, I could not get the etch to show. It's ATLANTIC, in block letters.
Re: American Switches
Love the double ended knives any idea what the etch was named after/for on this piece ?

Wiseguy, great looking gravity knifewiseguy wrote:Here`s an old gravity knife that is fairly obscure in that I cannot find much on the Co. that made them nor when they stopped making them,,,, stamped NOVELTY PATENT 1902
Question, What would a knife like that cost in that condition ?
Re: American Switches
Some are asking in the thousands and some in the hundreds so its kind of hard to say.

Re: American Switches
Found this one at a flea market today;Schrade Walden with a missing button release and lock. Nice full blade that is cleaning up nicely. One scale(black jigged plastic)has a small piece missing that is easily fixable. Spring is in great shape. Now all I need is the buttons. Couldn't pass it up for $2.50.

Re: American Switches
I think the button/sear from them orange Walden para knives will work on your knife.... BTW Muskratman knives has some replacement handle covers as well. Good score , this same model was my 1st switchblade and I still have it 40 years later

Re: American Switches
Thank you so much for that info! I have an MC-1 that has a broken back spring on the shroud cutter side AND a broken release spring I bought awhile back for $10.I checked and it looks like the button and lock assembly will fit. Guess i'll play "knife doctor" this week lolwiseguy wrote:I think the button/sear from them orange Walden para knives will work on your knife.... EDIT: I think I can repair the break in the scale without too much trouble but thanks for the heads-up for MM

Re: American Switches
Anytime you MAY be able to sneak the button assembly in but the handle WILL need to be removed to replace the safety, at that point you MAY need a new cover. Be sure to post it all fixed up .
