Well, it finally happened. This is the knife I've been wanting since I started collecting Tuna Valley knives. I've found a few of the 2012 SwingGuard over the years, but usually the guard is broken off. Finally found one in mint shape with killer stag!

Why would the guard be broken off a new knife?

I was told the pin that holds the guards in place is delicate, and can be broken if the blade is closed without making sure the guard is clear. I don't plan on using this one to find out, it's too rare and took me too long to find it.

Thanks! Those fish scalers are 5 inches closed, and they really found some killer stag to fill up that much handle space.

I had to make use of the nice weather today. I took a walk in the woods and took a few shots of some Tuna knives.

Yeah, all the mammoth used on any Tuna release was fluted. Kind of a neat feature that I haven't seen on any other production knives, only sometimes on customs. I'll try to get a few more shots of that cattleman.

Thanks, it is a work of art. After I received my Rigid knives set made by Canal Street and saw the amber stag bone they used, I started hunting for more amber bone stag or amber stag knives. This is going to be an interesting collection. I like the amber stag that Tuna Valley has as well so I will be adding more in the future. It should be interesting seeing all the different versions of this handle material when it’s all said and done.

Sharpnshinyknives,
Your T.V. amber stag cattleman's knife is very fine, a tribute to American cutlers skill. Enjoy!
