Ridge Runner?

Post by mrwatch »

Picked up a RR578 green camp. It has a fork and spoon like a hobo knife for $5.00. The flea market guy had others by Ridge Runner knives cheap but do not know how they are quality wise?

This is America, and in my experience one gets just what one pays for. Flea market guy sells it for five bucks, what, he paid half that maybe? Not many quality items available for that kind of money anymore.

pictures. While that is true in some cases, if a grandson looses it, not a financial loss.

Wow, that's an awful blatant copy of an old Colonial.

I used a Coghlan's Hobo (was $4 back then, still is now) as my mess kit knife in Boy Scouts, and it still is used in my lunchbox today. This is one case where I value rust resistance rather than edge retention (though I never sharpened the blade, it has always cut my food well).

It looks just like a BudK (not Buck) Camp Knife that I picked up a few years ago because it reminded me of a knife my grandpa gave me when I was kid. Mine is in my desk at work and I don't have a pic. It has black handles but otherwise looks the same. Threaded bolsters and all.

It isn't exactly like the knife that my grandpa gave me but I remembered the knife enough to get one similar just for the sake of reminiscing.

For whatever it's worth, here's mine that I mentioned above. Thought I would bring it home and take some pics to share here. Looks like the same knife in a different color and different branding.
