This Colt arrived extra sharp, everything aligned and tight.

Are these the Colts that are made in the same plant as Rough Rider ?

I'd like to learn more about exactly where they are made, and the name of the factory.

That is a handsome knife. ::tu::

Nice knife Quick Steel. I've got that same pattern in Stag Bone but I have never taken an individual pic of it. Picked it up at Smoky Mountain Knife Works when my wife and I were there in 2011. Good knife.

aet: {Hope my abbreviation is acceptable.Let me know if not.] I do not know if Colt is made in the same factory as RR. It seems likely.
Also, I have read that Colt is going out of production but I do not know if this refers to all their knives or just to certain patterns.

LOL... I should have chosen an easier user name. Like Ed or something...
Ken is my name so whatever you like...

In the rough rider thread someone had mentioned that they (Colts) were made in the same factory but to date I can not name that factory.

That is a nice looking knife in any event. Would you call that an "Armadillo" scale?
I tend to enjoy all knives at this stage.
Thanks!
K

Ken: I only know the scales as Colt refers to them, i.e. Buckshot. But certainly you may refer to them with anything you think appropriate. I picture armadillos as having a "plated" appearance. Perhaps close up there is a dotted effect. I have only seen armadillos squashed on the highway so I am not a good judge. :)

Buck shot is fitting...

I asked because I recently saw a custom Bowie style knife w/ very similar handles, and he called it Armadillo. They were also manufactured handles so I have no idea as to what the real varmint would look like on a knife.

Weird conversation... sorry
