Stag Wharncliffe Reverse Eureka Tactical !

Post by kootenay joe »

This is a very well made 4 1/8", very unique folding knife. The frame shape is that of a Eureka (aka "Norfolk") {LG4 pg 187} but the blade here pivots at the bulbous end, not the slender end. The bolsters & caps have scroll work. Is this "acid etched", "pantograph" or ?? Liners are stainless steel and blade is marked "440C".
It opens manually with a thumb stud and lock-up seems rigid as a fixed blade.
Releasing the blade is the unique part: push forward on the thumb stud, it moves ~ 1/8" and lock is released allowing blade to be closed.
At 3.2 ounces, or 92 grams it is not a heavy knife but it feels solid & 'strong' more like having a Sebenza in hand than a Wm. Henry.
Please feel free to comment whatever you feel like.
thanks, kj

Hey Joe,
I like it!! :D Wish a USA manufacturer would make something like that.Nice stag and the scroll work is quite beautiful. Especially like the thumb stud lock mechanism. I'm not into the Chinese knives but, for one of those I would make an exception. ::tu::

Keep your edge sharp, otherwise you just can't cut it.

Looking for Carrier Cutlery and early Robeson with Elmira tang stamps.

That's a beauty IMHO. I'd definitely carry that one proudly! ::tu::

KJ I had that knife, in fact I may still have it buried around here somewhere. Made by Hanwei as I recall. Most things Hanwei makes, in my experience, are first rate.

Yes, made by Hanwei. Even though they specialize in forging swords, every knife of theirs i have seen is first rate, with custom level workmanship.
