Thanks Dan. These are 3” closed, and just over 6” with both blades fully open.Old Folder wrote:Beauties Tony.
Never seen those before.
What is the length and production date?
Thank you sir. The bone is my favorite. It came first. The price on the imitation abalone was too good to pass up.Dinadan wrote:Those RR Sunfish knives are very cool, Tony. I like the bone best, but the other one, imitaiton abalone(?) is also really nice.
Paul - how did you remove the coating on the blades? I note that there is a can of metal polish behind the knife in the second photo, but it seems that it might take more than that. Your knife is looking good.

I wanted it to patina like all my carbon steel bladed knives,I prefer that look ,plus once it's got a patina it doesn't rust much morekootenay joe wrote:Why did you remove the Ti coating ? I understand it is supposed to decrease friction when slicing and to block oxidation of steel. Is there a down side ?

That wasn't wasted time. Love the blade. That is just about perfect.WV Papaw wrote:My new Rough Rider Splitback Whittler arrived today. Since I’m going to use it for whittling, I spent a while turning the pen blade into a mess - then the mess into a wharncliffe blade.
