I picked up a few new ones this past week. The whittler and stockman came as amber jigged bone and I dyed them to the red/brown color. Was gonna dye the smooth tobacco bone sowbelly trapper too but kinda like the mottled look it came with. All three are nicely made with smooth blade action and near perfect pulls.
Nice Ladies Leg knife & capable too, just show it a beer.
And super nice Sowbelly knives too. Rough Rider knives are such an incredible deal. If that smooth bone one was a Northwoods (similar bone) it would cost you 20 times as much.

Thanks KJ and your right, these knives are an incredible deal.
I have been carrying and using this RR for the last year and can't find anything to complain about, Good little using knife and the price is right. Terry
It was 2007 when i bought my first RR just to see what a $8.00 knife was like. It is amazing how good the Traditional style RR knives are, regardless of price. I think if there was a performance test between Rough Rider & GEC knives, there would be little difference. The slickest whitetail field dressing i ever did was with a RR jumbo trapper.

Don"t drink the water!
The water in here should be O.K.
I agree about not drinking the water. But if a person goes to Tijuana then drinking water is probably just about the last thing he is likely to do. I just hope the tests come back negative!

I liked it, one of my bothers gave me a 12 pack for Christmas and that was the last one.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
You're going to look awfully silly with that knife sticking out of your @#$. -Clint Eastwood, High Plains Drifter
My wife’s RR1267 muskrat. 4 inch closed. 3 inch blades. Gets very sharp with little effort. She has carried in daily for abt 4 years. Never let her down.
Maybe it is time to ebay your Rough Riders. A nice RR Trapper being auctioned, has 2 days to go and is at $86 ! for a knife that recently sold new for about $15. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rough-Rider-Ou ... 1438.l2649

I can't believe it! You're right kj I just bought that same knife 3 weeks ago brand new for $15.99 to go with another I have in that series. Why would someone do that without a little research first? I just thought of a line from a song, "God is great, beer is good and people are CRAZY."

dlr, i used one of the Trappers in this RR series to field dress a deer. It did the slickest, easiest job of it of any of the 50 or so deer i have dressed out.
I'd like to know where you bought yours. I want another one of these.
thanks, kj

Just looked up this Rough Rider after seeing your reports. For me to get it over here would cost me $123 Australian. Do not think so, i am not going to pay $70 American for postage. The last Rough Rider i bought from America cost me $45 Australian. How they come up with $70 for postage is beyond me. That is one of the problems living over here, the $ conversion with postage thrown in. Hope you all have a good weekend.
