Is it a Ka-bar possibly?
This knife looks like a Ka-bar to me, however, I don't see a Ka-bar tang stamp. I can't find anything under a "1408 model knife" related search. Anyone have a better idea as to what company made this knife? Is it a Ka-bar possibly?

Not a Kabar. No model 1408 in the historical Kabar pricing documents for 1968 to 2000s.
Another "Buck 110" copy. The 110 came out in 1963. Soon, everybody and their dog came out with a "large locking hunter" in the mid to late 60s (Kabar's 1189 in about 1966 or 1967, as an example) and early '70s to try and capitalize on Buck's success. Schrade was late to the game, with the LB7/LB8 coming out in 1979.

Hmmm I can't figure this one out... No maker's mark... but thanks for the response!
