Kabar cigar

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Just love that etch on those old pieces. Those older kabar's with a nice hardware etch are hard to come. Great piece

Roger what do you think of that knife compared to a green bone Case 94? Beautiful knife!
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Wayne,it has been a long time since I even looked at a 94 greenbone. From memory this Kabar is a little smaller frame from a 94.Same length, but smaller.

SWEET knife!! Looks like it has steel bolsters and liners? I believe this is a brochure showing your fine knife. Union/KA-BAR advertised they would etch any knife with your or your company name on the blade for an additional 50 cents per knife, one or one hundred. As an aside note, this folder shows the first KA-BAR over Olean, NY marked knives proving the mark was begun during WW2. Roger, that one makes me drool!!

Only marked Kabar on the master, another 4 1/4" cigar jack in yellow composition.Likely celluloid, but shows not signs of shrinkage or any use.

Dan, there is no date on it but it does say wartime so I would expect 1942-1945.
