Unfamiliar KA-Bar

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Unfamiliar KA-Bar

I picked this up at a flea market , and I cannot seem to find anything about it.
It doesn't seem to be a Little Hunter or a Finn.

Your knife is a post WW2 model 5206 SAB. The 5 prefix on your 206 is the code number for leather handles, the SAB for saber ground blade. Models 206 were available pre-war but my pre-war brochures only show P206 which is a flat ground 4" blade with celluloid handles. They may have made some 5206 SABs pre-war but the brochres end in 1938. Your mark of KA-BAR over Olean, NY and having an aluminum pommel makes it post war but before the mark became KA-BAR over USA.
