Need some help on a Kabar

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Need some help on a Kabar

Post by Landersknives »

A eBay seller has a two blade jack knife with stag handles listed with a supposed model number of 9527. I have looked through the books I have and I can not find it. Also in the books I have they say the first number is handle material and the second is the number of blades. If that is true then this knife should have 5 blades and silver pryaline scales. I will try to post pics but until then the item number is 112232010968. Thanks for any help. ::tu::

Appears to be a modern knife and may not follow Kabar's old pattern numbering conventions.

Sorry have not had a chance to post pictures and I haven't figured out how to provide a link to the auction. Thanks for the reply msteele6. So Kabar used the dog head shield on some more recent knives also. Much appreciated on the reply.

Landersknives,

There is a Kabar collector's forum on the site, you can probably get more information than you want about the knife there.

FAT scales on that one....I'd be worried about people asking me "is that a knife in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" ::ds::
