Ka-bar 1189 from the 70s

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Had one just like it, got it off EBAY for a good price. Cleaned it up and polished the brass. My brother-in-law liked it sooo much, sold it to him for a family price. Now I can't buy it back and have not found another for similar condition / price. He sure is proud of it!! ::dang::
