He specialized in high quality hand made limited runs for clubs and organizations. Cripple Creek Sunfish

Post by bkazz5 »

Here's one I feel fortunate to get ahold of. It's a 1982 sunfish. Based on what I have been able to find there were not many Cripple Creeks made in this pattern.

Thanks everyone. I really like it and am glad to have it. Iron Hoarder, since you mentioned the ruler here's a couple pics. I like the ruler because it has Winchester on it. The hardware store it advertises has a 4 digit phone #. How old does that make it?

What an amazing knife. And rare. Not to criticize it, it's just an observation, but it looks like a caricature of the Sunfish pattern.

FRJ - I agree with you. It is not your standard equal end sunfish and to boot it swells in the center. I like that it is unique.

Thanks for the ruler pictures. I love tools with advertising on them for other tools and collect them whenever I can. The number of digits relevant to the year depends upon what state/part of the state you lived in. My dad had a two digit phone number in 1970 and had to share the line with his neighbor That was when Arizona didn't have many people in it and his was the last house on the edge of town.

Thanks. I still have it. It is a very nice, well made knife. There is a pearl one floating around out there somewhere. I understand it is a one of one. Here is a pic (not my pic) of a collection that was broken up and sold. I was fortunate to get the bone sunfish after it passed through a couple other hands. I would love to bring it's pearl twin back together with mine. Needle in a haystack!

Thanks. I still have it. It would be a hard one for me to let go. HEre's a pic of it next to a GEC whaler for comparison. The Creek is not as long as a whaler but certainly wider and a heavier built knife.
