BKC Number Question, What is a - A

I attached the knife in question, what is the -A in the BKC numbers, thank you!

The A refers to a second generation knife. Charlie Dorton had the 1st generation knives made around 1986, Jim Parker had the 2nd generation knives made around 1991 although he used the older dated blades. Your knife is not a 1st generation canoe as the greenbone jigging on the 1st generation Knives was different. So your knife is either a 2nd generation knife of a 3rd generation knife depending on what is stamped on the tang. That’s the only way to tell for sure.

406-A 1 of 36 It has a Tang Stamp of 1986 So old blades Thank you, love any info thx
