Need help. Recently acquired Bulldog

Post by Landersknives »

I don’t have many, in fact just a couple, Bulldog pocket knives. I recently picked this one up off of EBay. I would like to know what I have exactly. I appreciate the help.

Thanks Doc I like it too. With all the different generations and anniversary editions I knew I needed some help from someone who has seen several of these. Thanks for your comment.

I kinda like Bulldog's and that one is a looker. Maybe Quick Steel will be along he seems to know a lot about them. Good pick up.

I absolutely defer to KK.

I would have called that Stockman abalone swirl, i.e. celluloid. Problem is in photographs it is sometimes (often) difficult for me to distinguish the real from the synthetic. The term green pearl is new to me and is that natural or celluloid? Made perhaps around 1993 to 1995, making it 3rd generation

I think Quick Steel is right on with 3rd Generation . The 3rd generation that had Surgical Steel Did not have a date on the blades as other 3rd generation did. There is 2 listings for this knife as I can't make out if it's Pearl for sure I will List the different green handle materials (1) Green Pearl With Banner Shield ,304 made (2) Green Pearloid , Banner Shield 36 made . If you can tell what handle you have this should answer your question . Also there is only one listing in Parkers Price Guide for 3 7/8" round bolster stockman with 7 different handle material with a banner shield .
348 Stags
3o4 Green Pearl
304 Btr/Mol
198 Tortoise
120 Blue Stripe
36 Green Pearloid
36 Green /Blue Stripe
There is 3 more 3 7/8" stockman listed (1) Stag ,Crest Shield Blade Etch Has S&D Enter (2) Stag ,Banner Shield (3) Slick Black Coal Miner Shield

That scale material looks like the same as a Camillas I have. Celluloid and not very stable mine has gassed.
