Proto 000 Cuttin Horse Stockman knife.

Post by StephenWhite »

This is a Stockman knife. Handle is cracked ice with a club shield. All 3 tangs have the fighting dogs stamp on one side with "Hand Made" under the dogs the two smaller blades have "Surgical Inst." on the reverse side of the tangs and the reverse side of the main blade has Bulldog Brand Hammer Forged Surgical Inst. Solingen Germany. The main blade has the Cuttin Horse design etched on one side and Proto 000 in beautiful script letters on the opposite side. Can anyone tell me anything about this knife or its possible value?

Any bulldog marked "surgical instruments" was made in 1993, a 3rd generation knife. Parker made a bunch of prototypes. Value is subjective, if it is mint I would guess around $50.00 to $75.00.
