China Bulldogs

Post by Rustle47 »

Well, I guess it is official. Silverladdie's Ebay store has some "German designed" 440 stainless Bulldogs with China on the back of the blade. The fighting dogs tang stamp is more detailed than the USA knives, looking more like the German made knives. The shield is the same fighting dogs design. I would post a link to ebay if I knew how.

I see similarities between this knife and some of the Colt knives made in China. I wonder if they're made in the same factory.

8) The bolsters and the total design of the knife, screams Rough Rider to me! Don't they look like some of the Rough Riders out there, to you guys? ::shrug::

Kind of sad to see, just like it was sad to see Boker knives made in China. At least the Bulldogs have China stenciled on the blade, though I would prefer a tang stamp. That is better than Boker, with very tiny letters on the box saying where it is made: or Klass with a peel off sticker. On a par with Steel Warrior's China stencil or Parker's Japan stencil.. I do not dislike knives made in China nearly so much as I dislike knife makers who are unwilling to mark their knife with country of origin.

8) Yeah! Me too. They don't even look as well made as a $8.00 Rough Rider.

The China Bulldogs have made their way to Cutlery Corner TV, you can also buy Miller Bros and EC Simmons knives made in China, courtesy of Jim Frost. ::td::

If that Bulldog is built as good as that Colt that was gifted to me, it will be one solid built knife.

I'd concur, the blade on one of the trappers seems identical to RR.

You can tell Parker's running out of stuff to sell. His ebay store used to be a nice place to see some good knives for sale with up to 2,000 quality items listed all the time. Now it looks like he's dumping his lower cabinet drawers out on a table looking for anything that might sell. He only has 182 items listed including pictures, books and decals. Jim Frost must have loaded a box of samples up for him as well.
It is kind of hard to see it happening :(
