Re: Got bulldogs?
You have an impressive collection LA. The "War Chief" is a knock out.
Re: Got bulldogs?
Thanks! Most of them have been carried but some of them are collectible.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 3:39 pm You have an impressive collection LA. The "War Chief" is a knock out.
Here's an animal etch you might like.

I like that copperhead for sure.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 11:25 am P1030698 (2).JPGP1030680 (2).JPGP1030563 (2).JPGP1030532 (2).JPGP1030528 (2).JPGP1030481.JPGP1030409 (2).JPG
I had one in gold dust once but I don't have any rabbit and hounds right now, closest comparison I could come up with is this green jigged bone with a saw blade.

I invariably like copperheads ever since a different pattern tore up my pocket.

It was a Buck Stockman. Here is the perpetrator and the scabbard to which it has been relegated.

Don't know if I've posted this before but this is my only Bulldog. It was a gift from a friend of mine who knew I had a similar knife by Browne & Pharr. Here is a pic of both of them.

Re: Got bulldogs?
k7k, I have the same BD. The blades came extra sharp.
Re: Got bulldogs?
I have one as well. There is a pearl handled one too. Made in Japan if I remember right.
Re: Got bulldogs?
Yup, here's an excerpt of the description of one sold by silverladdie,
"This auction is for a 1993 issue Bulldog Brand Genuine Pearl Groundhog knife, 3 3/8" closed.
This knife was a Special Order knife and only 12 pieces were made to give out to exclusive customers at The Blade Show in Atlanta, GA.
This Bulldog Groundhog has the Fighting Dog tang stamp and the scales are Genuine Pearl with great depth and color. The front handle is scrimed in black reading 'The Blade Show'. The bolsters are made of machined finished Stainless Steel."
I dropped out of the bidding around $60. I guess I wasn't that interested in competing for it then but maybe next time.

Re: Got bulldogs?
I can't compete with the wonderful collections you all have, but I sure enjoy looking at 'em .
Here's a couple I bought several years ago, the congress is my wife's and the stockman mine ... both were manufactured in 2007. They both have outstanding walk & talk and sharpen up slicker than snot on a doorknob. Wish I had purchased more from this era ... I do own a few more Bulldogs, whittlers, but have very weak snap, not sure of the year on those, they are tucked away right now.
I was always curious if the handle material on these 2007's was a hybrid of corelon & celluloid or all celluloid or all corelon? Any ideas? There does not appear to be any shrinkage or damage of outgassing, but I understand that can occur at anytime, without warning. I keep these segregated just to be on the safe side.
Thanks for lookin' ...

Thanks for stopping by, appreciate you sharing your knives with us. As for the celluloid I don't know of its composition but if I come across anything specific regarding it, I'll share it with you.
