Red Trout Knives
Re: Red Trout Knives
Well I received my Red Trout yesterday. I had ordered a "Dark Red Pressed Stag Jigged Bone"
I pretty certain that this is a "Merlot Wormgrove Bone". I kind of thought I had a 50/50 chance of getting the one I ordered. No big deal. I felt bad for Richard. He had a lot of people calling him. Not going to loose sleep over it, but I don't think I can warm up to this one. Does have a nice Merlot color which my pic does not show well. Eric hit the bullseye on these however. Great build quality, and good walk & talk.

Re: Red Trout Knives
I'd love to see one of each scale variety, so keep posting them. Really enjoy looking at the variations.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Couple to add to the mix. Couldn't be happier with the way these turned out.
Re: Red Trout Knives
I'd love to track one of these beauties down if anyone has an 'extra', hehe.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Red Trout Knives
My two beauties. I had ordered a blue rope and abalone. The blue rope was set aside but the abalone was sold. Richards daughter offered me the choice of three remaining knives, I choose what turned out to be the dark red pressed stag bone. Sorry @FarSide, it came in a box labeled as bocote wood. These really are incredible knives. Great vision by Richard and wonderful work by Eric.

Any more Red Trout knives out there? It was a really cool run, thank God for Richard's talented work.

Re: Red Trout Knives
Have noticed some have showing up for auction on eBay lately... makes me wish I had picked a couple of duplicates when I had the chance... It was Richard's conception... but it was Eric's talented work and he continues to produce them now under his own name... Albers Cutlery.
