Tom those tang stamps have to be even more rare than the knives they were used to stamp. Great addition to the collection.

Re: Latest Canal Street Additions
I have recently added two great knives to my gathering of Canal Streets. The first one was gifted to me by a Very Good Friend (Thank you very much Phil). Its a Swell Center Jack in Red Micarta, a True Beauty that adorns a special place among my Canal Street knives.
The second knife I have recently added is an AG Russell, made by Canal Street Boxcar Jack
A. G. Russell™ Boxcar Jack™ During the Great Depression, tools like this were carried by men who traveled the country looking for work. T ese men were called Hobos and their commonmode of transportationwas a train boxcar. T e A. G. Russell™ Boxcar Jack consists of a knife and fork held together by slots and pins in the liners. Simply push the mark, or obverse, side of the knife toward the pivot to slide the two halves apart. Handsome handle scales of cocobolo, burgundy Micarta®, or oiled ram's horn, with our unique “dog bone” inlay, will make you the envy of all your friends wherever you use it. T e knife and fork are made with modern, sanitary materials - stainless blades, liners and springs and nickel silver bolsters. T e steel is DIN 1.4112, a mid-level 440 with added vanadium and copious amounts of molybdenum and 16-18% chromium, which creates excellent edge holding and corrosion resistance. Heat-treated to 57-59 Rc. T e knife blade is a full 3-¼ ˝ in a handle that measures just 3-¾ ˝. Slim and unobtrusive, it makes a perfect personal travel tool. Weighs approximately 3.6 oz. Made in the U.S.A.
I will post pictures later tonight!

Tom, you've got some real beauties there! That two blade congress is really a unique one, I don't recall those ever being produced, and that shield is an unusual one too!!

Re: Latest Canal Street Additions
I do not have a Canal Street Room, however, I have carved out a section of my Schrade Room just for the Canal Street Knives. They are like step siblings...lol. After all, family is family...
Eric, that 2 blade half congress was really unique...that's why I grabbed it up. I have never seen one before, it is a Canal Street knife and the shield is extremely unique...never seen one of those either. I need to catch up with Wally and Uncle Harold to get the scoop on this puppy. It also has half stops...I had to have it.
The swell center Jack was for Moore Maker and the folding Hunter with liner lock was a prototype for KaBar
Then there is the Stag 1873 Bowie and then a couple other fixed blades I didn't have. Trying to get a large gathering of Canal Street History before it becomes extinct or outrageously priced. Got to preserve the history as much as I can.

Re: Latest Canal Street Additions
I was wondering who ended up with that half congress. If you ever get the story behind that one please post it. I saw it on the bay but that shield scared me off for what they were asking for it.
Definitely a cool piece.

Thanks Lyle, good to be here. I like that avatar, great to see that knife found a good home among its peers
Tom, did a few repairs for Regina up in Grahamsville, great people. Chuck's got a very impressive collection of early CS.
