Yet another Affair....CSC English Barlows

Former Schrade President Walley Gardner and principal Joe Hufnagel joined with nine master cutlers to form a group of US craftsmen with over 300 years of combined knife making experience to create Canal Street Cutlery. It was first located in upstate New York where a long and rich tradition of quality knife making dates back to the 19th century. Unfortunately, the company closed its doors in 2015, but not before making some great knives. The brand was resurrected in 2018 as Canal Street Cutlery Co-Op & focused on making very small batches of high quality traditional knives. As a Co-Op, it was owned by the knife makers who worked there. Unfortunately, the business model couldn't hold up & the entity again ceased production.

Yet another Affair....CSC English Barlows

Post by Chase »

As if one affair weren't enough, those folks at Droppointhunter and CSC have gotten me totally submerged in the English Barlows.

These are all Prototypes, with the exception of the Stag AG Russell Barlow. That was mad exclusively for AG Russell and purchased through AG Russell.

I am missing the Protoype Reclaimed American Chestnut Barlow...gotta work Wally and Michael a little harder to get my mitts on that one.

I managed to get one of the Smooth Sunset Bone Barlows at the Blade Show before they were all gone. It's an excellent knife and an impressive execution of a time tested pattern. Something tells me it won't be my last CS Barlow, but I doubt I'll ever be able to stack up to what you have gathered in Mr. Chase. A most impressive collection if I do say so myself. ::nod::
