Re: Here's what I have
Thanks, Colonel.
While I never hesitate to grab the next one up in the rotation, it always puts a smile on my face when I'm reaching for the Dovo or the Torrey.
Becky had "A & F" etched into the back side of the blade on the Dovo. That's my monogram inlayed on the mark side scale.
It's for "Always and Forever", a song we had played at our wedding, and something I always add to any note, card or whatever that I give her.
"A & F" is inscribed on the inside of her wedding ring.
39 years married this April!
Take care and God bless,
Steve

Love the historic etches like your Spirit of ST Louis ship.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I’ve never used a Dovo, but I hear great things about them. Yours is even more special.

Re: Here's what I have
Thanks Mike.
Thank you, Wayne. I bought all but the Dovo at antique shops. That Spirit of St. Louis had a bit of a smile on the blade. (For those who don't know, a "smiling" blade shows more wear/less metal at the toe and heal of the blade, thus, more belly to the blade. A "frowning" blade has more wear/less metal in the belly.) To give you an idea of the kind of guy Glen is to work with, when I sent him the blade to get it shave-ready for me, he gave me a call before he started in on it. He said that in order to get the smile out of the blade and get a straight shaving edge, he'd have to cut into the lettering, taking out most of the "Spirit of St. Louis" lettering. I said go for it, I wanted to shave with it, not display it. I told him I was super appreciative he called and asked before starting in on my blade. Again, if any of you need any straight razor work, contact Glen http://gemstarcustoms.com/
Take care and God bless,
Steve

Some fine blades there. Those New Science Concave razors are some kick ass shavers. Shave like a heavy grind without the weight.
One of these days I may let Glen hone a blade for me just to see how much better he can do than I can.
ENJOY!

Glen does great work. Quick turn around, too.
You won't be disappointed.
