Marina Fire

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Marina Fire

Post by RobesonsRme.com »

Weekend before last, there was a nighttime fire at a marina at Jackson County Park in Scottsboro, Alabama.

There were multiple houseboats moored there with families actually living aboard.

Nine people died.

One man lost his wife and all five of their children.

They were buried today. The funeral home in Stevenson, Alabama took care of that without charge.

There are no words of my own that I can offer up for comfort for those who have suffered and lost so much. God's Word and His alone will bring healing in His perfect timing.

Thanks.

The investigation is centered around a particular craft, but, not the one in which that family lived. The boats were all under a protective metal covering and the fire jumped from one to the other. Multiple boats destroyed and three, I think, loosed from their moorings and sunk in Lake Guntersville.

Multiple agencies involved.

I do not know the particulars about how and why the husband and father survived and all of the other six died, nor do I know the causes of their deaths, whether it was smoke inhalation or the fire itself.

Hoping he can live with himself, whatever the situation might have been.

It is not in the official news, but some people involved said that the father was cutting boats loose and pushing them away from the docks. The boat that his family was on drifted into one or more that were engulfed...
There was a lot of burning gasoline floating on the water, and they could not escape the boat.
If there is any comfort here, it is that the family were active in church and appeared to be people of faith. For them, there is peace and comfort afterwards.
Jesus is life.
Everything else is just a hobby.

Hopefully the smoke got them, I would think that fire would be the worse way anyone could go. They're with the Lord now.
