Could use a few prayers......
Could use a few prayers......
First of all, as I type my momma is having hip surgery. I expect all to go well, but the surgery she's having will require a long recovery. Dad will be the one taking care of her most of the time, and he isn't in the greatest of health. So I'd appreciate some prayers for them.
Secondly, I've been having some issues so I went and had blood work the other day and yesterday afternoon I went and turned myself in to the doctor. It's full blown type 2 diabetes, not pre, not insulin resistant, just out of nowhere the whole shebang. It runs in my family. My Pa had it as well as one of his sisters. I have a few 1st cousins who have it real bad, so this isn't good news for me. I started this morning with three pills and a combination shot of insulin and another med.
I'm already on the diet and have lost some weight so the doctor has hopes we can get some control and get me off the insulin. But this is my first day on the meds and I feel horrible! I'd appreciate the prayers fellers.

Father, I pray You will bring Your healing power to the Colonel's mom, Your peace to his dad, and Your healing and wisdom to the Colonel himself for the control of his diabetes. All these things, Jesus, for Your glory. In Your name I pray. Amen.
Take care and God bless,
Steve

Wade, Praying your mother will do well with the hip surgery and that you will be successful controlling the diabetes issue. We serve a great God and remember He is in control.

Re: Could use a few prayers......
I'll certainly add my prayers. And I also note that Steve's milestone posting (his 1,000th post) was a prayer for someone else and not a knife-related post. Yes it is a coincidence but it seems like a nice coincidence that helps put things in perspective. Knives are great but there are many things much greater and much more important.

Thanks guys. Mom just came out of surgery. It wasn’t as bad as they feared and she’ll be able to put weight on it in two weeks as opposed to two months.
I appreciate all the prayers guys. I really do.

As soon as the results came back from my blood work, before I ever saw the doctor, my wife put me on the diet. No sugar, limited complex carbs, protein, and plenty of fat. Truth told the food ain’t bad. But she watches me like a hawk. Lol. On a positive note she’s cooking me three meals a day. Lol.philco wrote:Wade you and your folks are in my prayers as well. Sounds like a decent outcome for your mother, Wade. So glad to read that! As for your diabetes issue, the change in diet and weight loss can have a noticeable positive outcome, sounds like Val has you towing the line.
Regardless, I will pray for you and your family, Wade!

Hope all goes well and you get on track with the new meds and diet.

Thanks guys. Mom is home and doing well. I went by after work today and we all had a good visit.
John, dad and I talked beagle hounds too.
On the diabetes front, today was the first day of meds. This morning my sugar was 250 something right after waking up. This afternoon after the meds it was 116! Praise the Lord.
