my son,

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Praying for your son and your family. One of my younger sisters had a significant part of her colon removed decades ago and remains a high energy person to this day.

[Perhaps this can encourage any of our members to consult with their doctors as to the advisability of scheduling colonoscopies if they have not yet done so.]

If you are over fifty years of age, you need a Gastroenterologist as one of your physicians and a baseline colonoscopy and follow-up studies done as recommended.

Same for esophagoscopy.

Painless procedures these days. Versed is a wonderful drug.

my son texted me this morning that he had a fever of 100+ yesterday. Catt scan Friday shows the mass to be four inches and the lymph nodes are inflamed. I do not know much about Lymph nodes. I do not know if the fever is because of that. Thanks to every one for your prayers and comments. Bob

My brother and I had cancer at the same time. Mine was squamous cell carcinoma (tonsil),his was colon( I don't know the particulars).

He was 52 also, they removed part of his colon and he took chemo treatments and finished Engineering school from the first graduating class of new the Marshall U. Engineering School.

He's doing fine. Me too.

Mr. Watch your assessment is very likely i.e. sweating can be indicative of the body fighting cancer. Also, certain cancer medications can provoke sweating. In any event he needs to keep his doctor informed. No doubt he is doing this.

Thank you everyone. He said that today was the worst day of his life. I recon so. If your squeamish pass on. This morning after much prep he had a Barium enema XRAY. I'll spare you of his description but the XRAY is on the end of the scope. The Tech. doing it could not get more than 3 inches. Lot's of blood work and long talk to the anesthesiologist nurse. He had a very bad reaction after his knee surgery. But still has work lined up for this week. one is a 1950's Jaguar after working on a vintage Porsche last Friday. Plus a ceramic coat job on a 2017 Chevy Equinox. Thank you spell check! ::tu::

My sons cancer surgery is scheduled for 1 pm. today. We are staying at his house and I will be driving his wife each day as she does not drive in city traffic. It is a good thing that they have two cars because I am having some trouble with my poor old Honda. I think the battery is not good enough now too always turn it over without a jump. Went to Walmart yesterday and of course they lady looked up and sold me the wrong one. Posts on the wrong side so cables are not long enough. Put it and my trade in in her car and by the time I drove to town the auto department was closed. Rob is still up upbeat about getting right back to work but I think that the chemo will probably knock him for a loop after talking to a friend that is having it.
