my son,

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

I will be praying as well.
I don't know about colon cancer surgery, but I have had three colon surgeries. They removed about 20% of my colon. It is pretty major surgery but the Lord brought me through it all three times.
The surgeons today are very good and God is still sovereign and He is Jehovah Rapha, "the Lord Who Heals."
Your son couldn't be in better hands! And we will be praying also.

Bob, will pray for your son, and for the family through this trial of life.
I have an aunt who went through the colon cancer crucible in her early 30's. She is mid 60's now, and has had a vibrant life all these years. Best of wishes on your travels to be with your son. There is something comforting about a father's presence. I'm sure you will bring peace in his storm.

Prayers for your son, his wife and family. I want to share that my mother-in-law was diagnosed in her fifties with colon cancer, underwent surgery and chemo treatments afterward. Completely cured her, she was cancer free the rest of her life. She died of natural causes at age 94.

In general, colon cancer is one of the more treatable forms, with survival rates of up to 90%, depending on type, location and lymph node involvement.

95% of colon cancers are adenocarcinoma and respond most readily to treatment.

Will be praying for your son.

Praying for your son and your family. One of my younger sisters had a significant part of her colon removed decades ago and remains a high energy person to this day.

[Perhaps this can encourage any of our members to consult with their doctors as to the advisability of scheduling colonoscopies if they have not yet done so.]

If you are over fifty years of age, you need a Gastroenterologist as one of your physicians and a baseline colonoscopy and follow-up studies done as recommended.

Same for esophagoscopy.

Painless procedures these days. Versed is a wonderful drug.

my son texted me this morning that he had a fever of 100+ yesterday. Catt scan Friday shows the mass to be four inches and the lymph nodes are inflamed. I do not know much about Lymph nodes. I do not know if the fever is because of that. Thanks to every one for your prayers and comments. Bob

Last night he texted that he worked on a 1970's Jaguar XJS convertible. My kind of ride. ::tu:: Now that he has new information he is calling and scheduling customers. Bob
