Prayers Please

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Prayers Please

Post by Quick Steel »

Now it's my turn into the batter's box so to speak. Requesting your prayers as I will have a bit of surgery done tomorrow. I am quite optimistic about the outcome and find the experience more than a little interesting in that cryosurgery will be used. This means the doctors will literally freeze the offending tissue turning it into a snow ball. At least that is what it looks like in photos I have been shown. I am very grateful for your prayerful support.

Is this being done with local anesthesia or a general anesthetic ?
With many surgical procedures the anesthesia involves greater risk than the operation. The overall rate of adverse outcomes (= unexpected complication) with general anesthesia is less than one in a thousand so the odds of all going well are extremely good.
Please give us an update post-op.

kj, You have put your finger on the only aspect of this procedure that I have [a very slight] concern about, i.e. that it will be general anesthesia. But your numbers are reassuring. And I am looking forward to getting past this hiccup in my daily life.

If you have had a general anesthetic previously and there were no complications, then your chance of all going well this time is increased by 100 fold.
But, take great care on your drive to the hospital (or clinic). Moving cars are very dangerous, much more so than anesthesia.
I have no doubt that you will be fine. It is common for patients to awaken after anesthesia/surgery to ask "when are you going to start my operation ?", At first they find it hard to believe that the procedure is done, finished. They sailed through it in relative bliss. I bet you will do the same.

Of course my prayers are with you QS.
You sound as if you have little to no concern so just keep that working for you, and it will be over before you know it. Literally!

With all the good will you have going for you, that "tissue" doesn't stand a snowballs chance in... well you know! ::tu::

Thinking about the heavy duty issues some of our members deal with I almost didn't post this request. My situation is "kid stuff" in comparison. But I am truly grateful for the thoughts and prayers; they are a real source of strength. So let's continue to support all our members as they deal with their challenges. I know many of you do that consistently. God Bless.

Okay kj. I'm back. Easy Peasy, Piece of cake...upside down. Doctors pleased, nurses pleased etc. I'll have some residual pain for a few days, but the meds are handling that. If you should need some greater detail shoot me a PM.

I do want to publically express my gratitude to God who has provided so much such as the skilled people who treat me, my incredible sister Bev, and the gift of the AAPK which fills my day with enjoyment, knowledge, humor, insights, spiritual support and on and on. Thanks guys.
