How about a quick prayer for Dale (Orvet)

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

How about a quick prayer for Dale (Orvet)

Post by glennbad »

Dale mentioned to me me late yesterday that was at the ER and waiting to go in for Gall Bladder surgery. I hope he doesn't mind me posting this. I know he would do the same for any one of us. I was hoping to send some thoughts and prayers his way for a successful surgery and quick healing!

Hope everything goes well, Dale! We miss you when you aren't around. :(

Prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery. Most of these gall bladder procedures are pretty simple and routine nowadays but like they say, minor surgery is something done to someone else!

Get well quick Dale. ::pray::

Thanks guys I appreciate your prayers and well wishes.

The surgery went well but was complicated by scar tissue from previous abdominal surgeries. They had use an incision instead of doing it laparoscopy. Instead of one day in the hospital I now get to stay here 2 or 3 more days. ::teary_eyes::

Hopefully I can go home Friday.
Thanks again for all your prayers. ::tu::

Sorry Dale, that's a bummer. But glad your surgery was otherwise successful.

When that nurse comes in at 3:00 AM and wakes you up to check your blood pressure, tell her hi for me. I'm sure it's the same nurse I had, or one of her relatives! :lol:

Thanks guys! I certainly appreciate all the prayers, they made a huge difference in the speed of my recovery. My doctors and nurses were surprised at how quickly I recovered, especially since the surgery was done by incision instead of the scope. My doctor said she tried to use the scope but encountered too much scar tissue from previous surgeries so she had to use an incision. I have about a 9 inch incision below my rib cage on my right side that has been closed with staples. It looks like a spiral-bound notebook has been embedded in my side. Looks strange!

I was allowed to go home about noon today, which was less than 48 hours after my surgery. I was told the doctors usually keep a patient for 3 to 4 days post op, if they had their gall bladder removed via incision.
The doctor told me I have to take it easy for six weeks and can’t lift more than 12 to 15 pounds, or else I could get a hernia.

Thanks again for all your prayers and well wishes, they really needed difference in speed of my recovery!
